Based in Washington, D.C. since late 2014, I am a freelance photojournalist accredited to the White House and the U.S. Senate Press Photographers’ Gallery and a member of the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) and Diversify Photo.

My work has been recognized in NPPA’s Best of Photojournalism and Northern Short Course contests and the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar Contest.

I am also a photo editor at JAB Innovative Solutions, doing contract work for State Department publications.

Previously, I was a daily newspaper photographer in northwest Missouri.

I studied photojournalism and received an M.A. degree in 2009 from the Missouri School of Journalism on a Fulbright scholarship. I earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations, with high honors, from Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey.
