Based in Washington, D.C. since late 2014, I am a freelance photojournalist accredited to the White House and the U.S. Senate Press Photographers’ Gallery and a member of Diversify Photo.

My work has been recognized in the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar Contest and the Best of Photojournalism and Northern Short Course contests of the National Press Photographers Association.

I am also a photo editor at JAB Innovative Solutions, doing contract work for State Department publications.

Previously, I was a staff photojournalist at St. Joseph News-Press in northwest Missouri.

I studied photojournalism and received an M.A. degree in 2009 from the Missouri School of Journalism on a Fulbright scholarship. I earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations, with high honors, from Bilkent University in Turkey.
